Over the past 30 yrs German scientist and naturopath Peter Mandel has been working to create this unique system of healing, with the support of biophysicist Dr Fritz Albert Popp. For millennia mystics have been saying that we are beings of light, and the modern science of photobiology is now proving this.
Dr Popp explains,“The implications in terms of healing are immense. We now know that light can initiate, or arrest, cascade-like reactions in the cells…and genetic cellular damage can be virtually repaired, within hours, by faint beams of light.” This is actually the medium by which cells communicate, and colour - which is simply light broken down into its constituent parts - is the code, or language, by which different messages can be conveyed.
Traditional Chinese medicine has mapped the energetic pathways on the body through which the Qi, or life force flows. Instead of needles, as in acupuncture, Colourpuncture uses a pen torch fitted with interchangeable glass rods to focus light on specific points on the skin, each treatment using a prescribed pattern of colours in a particular sequence.
